Were in the Movies!!

Yesterday was a pretty busy day for me and I didn't get a chance to blog cause my computer was having some NETWORK problems. Anyway I started my day at 5:45am in the morning cause I had to work a special event at Warner Brothers Studios.
Basically what this event was that there was a big promotion held all through Europe for the Jim Carrey movie YESMAN. In each area some sort of competition or promotion was going on where one person would win a trip for two to Hollywood California. I guess there was a coordinator who stayed with the group and took them around to do lots of fun things and Saturday one of the fun things would be riding Vespa's through WB Studios around Blondie Street. Now Blondie street was full of houses that are in movies and shows such as Bewitched, Small Soldiers, Pushing Daises, The Griswold house and much more..

Since Sean is my neighbor and we work together we carpooled because he was going to work the event. (We had 3 people from our company representing..me,Peter and Sean and the help of an employee from one of our dealerships Amauri). This is at the front gate

OO We already saw Peter and Amauri there unloading the Vespa's and WHAT it was the fountain from the opening on Friends..I had to take a couple photos!!
I'll be there for you...lalalalala...I was singing that..
The event was broken up in Two groups of 14. The first group was shuttled in. And they were all from EVERYWHERE..Germany,Netherlands,Greece,Ireland,Israel,Spain,UK etc...It was pretty scary a LOT of these guys did not know how to ride bikes..I swear I thought I was going to see some accidents..just a few bikes fell and no one was hurt..not too bad.
Then we got the group to sit at the friends fountain while they gave us their cameras to take photos.
The guys talking Shop
This was the second group..which made me have a heart attack..they were all over the place!
By 11:30am it was time to pack in the bikes and our riding gear
One last drive through the neighborhood..This is the house from Small Soldiers I think.

The morning went by quick..Than it was of to celebrate Gabe and I 10 year Mark!

That's another blog.

Paying 995.00 a month in a two bedroom apartment 2 city blocks from the beach though is too hard to give up right now..

PEZ PEZ EVERYWHERE PEZ

So for a while I been collecting Pez and the other day finally thought I would pull a box of them out..Ava had a blast with them! Maybe she will gain an interest in collecting them when she gets older.

Parker had fun too sorting out the Pez..such as putting all the Simpson pez together and then the star wars ones and so on..
Let's see how this one taste
She loved kicking her feet in the pile of PEZ
Then she stopped to carefully investigate the details of each one as well
I tried to get Parker to see if he would grow any interest but he hasn't...I still collect them though..there are so many ones out there. One day I would love to come across some really old ones for nothing at a swapmeet but everyone seems to know that they are pretty collectible.boooo

If I had a Thousand Dollars to blow..

I would so much love to get the World's most expensive Sundae..The Golden Opulence served at Serendipity in New York. I was watching the travel channel and came across this segment on this very rich dessert made for well those who can afford to blow a grand.

Now you may wonder what can possibly make this such an expensive treat..I'll tell ya!

First of all they serve it in a baccarat Harcourt Crystal Goblet (the same kind used in the Vatican)

They line the crystal goblet in edible 24k gold leaf (paper) then spoon in the rarest most expensive chocolate Amedei Porceleana (only a very small amount harvested) And serve it with Tahitian Vanilla ice cream which they slice up Madagascar vanilla bean brush on the vanilla bean scrapping over the vanilla ice cream. They put chunks of another rare chocolate in it (Chuao which is from cocoa beans harvested by the Caribbean Sea on Venezuela's coast.)

They then Decorate the ice cream with more gold leaf, and rim the goblet with candied fruits from Paris and these gold I think covered almonds. They also Garnish the ice cream with a 8 hour hand crafted gold Sugar flower...the finishing touches are a small glass bowl of Grand Passion Caviar, it's salt free and infused with Passion fruit and the final final touch is gold sprinkled over the sundae and a 18k solid gold spoon to eat it with...

Now that's living!

Ancient Chinese Secret...CHEN'S

Last night Gabe and I took the kids out for a Authentic Chinese Cuisine at Chen's . I cannot believe for as long as I been living here that this was the first time I ever been and I will definitely go back. It is a old hole in the wall Chinese restaurant right around the corner from where I live. We were hearing so many good things about and Parker was excited to to try a new food. He has had Chinese take out before but never been to a restaurant which is much more different.
Ava sitting quietly (well for a moment) at the dinner table.
Father and Son..
Along with your water they serve you some small cups and a kettle pot full of green tea before the meal is served. Parker liked the tea.
They then brought out a BIG steaming Egg Flower Soup which was AWESOME! It had bak Choy, scallops, tofu, shrimp, snow peas, carrots and water chestnuts in a savory broth with a puff cruchy rice mixed in. We ate the whole bowl. Parker had a little but did not care for it too much. He did enjoy the appetizers of fried shrimp, and spare rib..he would not try the eggroll.
SOUPS ON!!
So delicious..this was probably my 4th helping.
When our food was served we could barely eat after the appetizers and soup. Gabe had a shrimp in lobster sauce dish and I had the honey walnut glazed chicken. Mine was a little too sweet for my taste.
Next time I will probably order the chop suey and have some lychee ice cream...I may have to go this Friday for more Chen's!! We drove through 2nd street with the convertible top down after running an errand after dinner. AVA LOVED IT. She was yelling and laughing and throwing her hands in the air.

Keep cool In the Summertime

Ally emailed me some pictures that she took from John and Kirstens Last Crab Leg, Wine and Pool party. That was such a great time. What a great way to keep cool in the summertime.

Ava loves to play in the small pool and splash around. we moved her on over to the big pool in her floaty toy..I don't know if she cared for it right away
Kelsey had fun playing with Ava in the pool
I tell you putting kids in the pool for the day equals a good nights sleep.well most of the time
JJ was keeping cool with his drink
Sean was too...This is his Mento's the freshmaker face..Before several glasses of wine
And after several glasses of wine..I have no idea what he is doing to my brother??
It is such a great time at Casa de Henry. I can't wait for the next wine/pool party. I hope to attend at least a couple more before the summer is over. I know though that gabe and I always have a great time at John and Kirstens place even if were just hanging in the pool with a bag of chips and dip and some beers it is always a blast!!
