Gavin Turns 7

Yesterday we went to Andy and Davina (brother and sister in law) house to celebrate Gavin turning 7 years old. They had a TON of good fun. It was a pretty fun time. It was technically going to be a pool party but it was pretty cold but still Parker and a few other kids did go in the pool anyway.

They had a bounce house but the manager of the Mobile Estates they live in made them deflate it..that still could not get the boys out of it

My pinata pictures came out too dark but them grabbing the loot came out pretty good.

Midnight Cellars Wine Dinner

So Last night we went to our monthly wine dinner at Park Ave. It was great. Only 10 of our party of 14 we reserved for showed up. The wine Host for the evening was Midnight Cellars.

Gabe and I walked over to Chris and Holly's place and met up with Mike and Karen and Toni and took a cab from LBC to Stanton.
We got there early so while waiting in the bar area The guys had beers..

It was now time to be seated and move to the appetizers and Sangria being served out in the garden. For Appetizers they had servers walking around with silver trays of Salmon Tar tare (I was too chicken to try) Tomato Carpaccio ( cold tomato soup..It was really good) and a St. Louis Toasted Ravioli (also very good)..Now the Sangria was beautiful!! It was so delish!

After Sangria in the Garden it was time to move on to our seats inside. Sean finally showed up.

The first course was served with a chardonnay. It was a petite plate with a pinch of freshly cut Arugula from their own garden,Seared Tuna (just cooked on the outside edges raw inside) with a yogurt dressing and a little pita cracker for crunch ..It was good

Our next course was Osso Bucco. It was very rich and flavorful. Mike getting ready to conquer this battle

We had a lot of wine..by this time we just kept toasting to a bunch of different things..so I got to get a shot of one of the many toasts

For Dessert they gave us Poached pears stuffed with Marscapone cheese with chocolate sauce..It was pretty gross ..I don't think any of us ate it.

Well It was time to call the cab to take us back. We could not end the night though just like that. We went over to Mike and Karen's house and had a few bottles,sang some Beatles and had lots of convo. It was a nice time. When It was time to go home ( 2:40am) Gabe had to throw Toni over his shoulder though and carry to her front door.

It was a fun night. I love the wine dinners. They have a special one coming up in June but it will be the weekend when we are on our family camping trip but we will have plenty more to go to.

Memorial Day

I am finally getting to my memorial day photos.
We went to John and Kirsten's house to BBQ with them. We had a excellent time,had some good wine and food and the kids had a lot of fun too. After awhile Gabe had to leave to go to work and Alex and Ally stopped by. Ally brought over some awesome rice krispie treats.

Colorado Lagoon

After the strawberry festival on Sunday we stopped to check out the BBQ at Colorado Lagoon for the Orange Crush. I saw a bunch of people that I have not seen in a long time. I was too tired to get up and take photos so Gabe did it for me.

Carnival Fun at the Strawberry Festival

Sunday we started the day by going to the Strawberry festival in Garden Grove. It really was not what we were expecting. We didn't even have anything strawberry. Parker still had a good time hanging out in the carnival and going on rides and playing games.

We still had some fun..afterwards we went to the Colorado Lagoon to meet up for the Orange Crush rally BBQ..Pictures will be posted later tomorrow..I am tired

Garden Party

Yesterday afternoon we went to Vanessa's Birthday party and Glen's too.(hers was actually yesterday though) We had the best time there. We were greeted with Martini's and appetizers.

We than went outside in their backyard which was full of plants and trees it was really nice and ate out in the garden. There was good music and good company ..just all around good times.

Vanessa was in the kitchen making tons of food and glen was outside working the BBQ. He made some sausage links and Chicken Kabob. The chicken was FANTASTIC!

Time for food..there was falaffel, couscous, watermelon mint salad, macaroni salad, Grilled veggies, Green bean and tomato salad with Feta cheese upon load and load of more wonderful fresh and tasty exotic food

The Couscous with the asparagus was awesome. Vanessa's added carrots and dried apricot in it as well.

After eating we continued to have champagne in the garden . Me and Paula were having a blast.

We have not seen Rich in awhile..this is about 1 hour before he was to open up his club that was going on last night. Ava was Crashed out!!

When we got home Carl and Ally were on their way over to do Trivia Game night. Ally brought some fried chicken and some broc salad and a case of beer and we played trivia for about 3 hours on the Playstation2. Anyway it became another night of me going home at 3am..I am so glad I got a 3 day weekend!
